Tough love..

I truly truly love the tough look that's all over the scene right now...black lace and leather are a formidable combination! Vampy eyes and perfectly sculpted hair make the look...epitomized by the shoot featured in this weeks Sunday Times Style magasine - seen above.

All hail the return of the English rose.

p.s.
It DEFINITELY works for the lads too....Ash Stymest....YUM!

Todd Lynn Spring/Summer 2010

Having noticed him this year at London Fashion Week, I decided to check out his new collection and boy is it refreshingly different! His loose draped textures and edgy tailored pieces combined with splashes of fur and in some cases fantastic polished metal epaulettes are outstanding. His palette of charcoal; black, cream; white and camel work to completely marry the textures together without looking gaudy. Instead his models look almost angelic and in many ways ghostly.

If I were to pick on piece that I was to take for my spring/summer wardrobe it would be his rippled long-fitting tops like these ones below that really make a statement, yet can be worn off the catwalk for a sharp new look next season!

Alexander McQueen's Plato Atlantis collection - WOW!

Ok so I'm a BIT behind on my discovery of Alexander McQueen's spring 2010 collection but BOY does it excite me!

His prints are fantastic, as per usual, but not only that...the hair and make up - I thought a cross between monster vs. alien and african animals - the shoes especially are remeniscent of gazelles' hooves, no?

To top off the amazing show, McQueen chose to use Lady GaGa's new release as his finale...its characteristic querkiness and upbeat tempo really focused in on the ephemeral, transient look of his character pieces for the new season.

OH and check out Lady GaGa's official video to Bad Romance...it's completely 'off the wall' - would we expect any less?
